I grew up in France, in the suburbs of Paris. After a BA in Product Design, I moved to London in 2012 to study Industrial Design at Central Saint Martins where I developed a curiosity for making processes and stories of use.
I started taking photos during my time in London but it’s in Bristol – where I moved in 2018 – that my practice developed, lifted by the city’s vibrant scene and my growing interest in social research as I was simultaneously carrying out an MSc in Social Science Research.
My dual background in design and social research led to my interest in how our heavily designed environments shape us and vice versa. My work also has an introspective component.
Like many people of my generation, I seek a more collaborative and genuine relationship with the people I photograph, rather than an ephemeral and superficial one. I’m currently working with the Garden Folk community in Bristol where I’m exploring women growing and folk practices.
I work with a 1950’s Rolleiflex camera.
